Colorado’s evidence-based response to domestic violence lethality.
The Lethality Assessment Protocol (LAP) is a two-part intervention that helps law enforcement identify domestic violence (DV) victims at the highest risk of being killed by their intimate partner — and connect them with a trained advocate before officers leave the scene.
Under HB26-1009, every Colorado law enforcement agency must implement LAP by July 2027. This page provides information to help assist law enforcement in their LAP implementation.
