HB26-1009 requires every Colorado law enforcement officer to complete the LAP training provided by the Department of Law before July 2027.
Current Live Training Options
The Department of Law is offering a 3-hour in-person training — Preventing Domestic Violence Fatalities. This training is intended for law enforcement command staff and leadership to help prepare an agency for HB26-1009 implementation. This training will also fulfill the HB26-1009 requirement. There are two available training formats:
In-Person Regional Training: Regional in-person trainings are available upon request. If you are interested in hosting or attending one of these, please email preventiontraining@coag.gov.
Live Virtual Agency Training: Virtual trainings are available for your agency upon request. If you are interested in hosting a virtual training option for your agency, please email preventiontraining@coag.gov.
Monthly Live Webinar Training: Monthly webinars are available on the fourth Thursday of every month from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. If you are interested in attending one of our monthly webinars, email preventiontraining@coag.gov to register for the next webinar.
Coming Soon – Virtual LAP Training
The Department of Law is developing a short virtual LAP training designed for all officers. This training will fulfill the HB26-1009 requirement. This page will be updated when the training is available.
