Promote Positive Youth Development
Positive youth development is an evidence-based approach proven to help make programs and services for youth more effective and to help youth develop skills that make them successful.
At the heart of preparing youth for success in education, work, and life, is working in partnership with youth to assist them in reaching their full potential.
There are many factors that influence youth as they strive to reach their full potential and it is essential to engage Colorado youth in their own development.
The Colorado Department of Law supports and promotes positive youth development in partnership with the following programs:
Colorado Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs
Boys & Girls Clubs across Colorado deliver comprehensive positive youth development programs that produce outcomes in the areas of healthy lifestyles, character development, and academic success.
The Colorado Department of Law provides financial support for implementing programs such as SMART Moves, Project Learn, Power Hour, Keystone Club, NetzSmart, Passport to Manhood, and Healthy Habits.
The Colorado Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs is an active partner of CO9to25.
Rise Above Colorado
Rise Above Colorado is a statewide organization dedicated to empowering teens to live a life free of drug abuse through positive, smart, and healthy choices.
Utilizing best practices for public awareness and community outreach, Rise Above Colorado shapes teens’ attitudes and perceptions about drugs through proactive education programs, with the goal of reducing drug usage patterns.
Rise Above Colorado is an active partner of the Colorado Substance Abuse Trend and Response Task Force and CO9to25.
Colorado 9to25 (CO9to25) is a collective, action-oriented network of youth and adults working in partnership to align efforts to achieve positive outcomes for all youth in Colorado. It takes collaborative action to ensure that all young people ages 9-25 in Colorado are safe, healthy, educated, connected and contributing.
CO9to25 is changing the systems, policies and practices that impact young people by aligning collective interests and resources to address a more specific set of indicators of youth well-being.
