The purpose of this webpage is to display information about private education creditors registered in Colorado, pursuant to section 5-20-203(3) of the Colorado Student Loan Equity Act. Required Information
The following pieces of information (as required by section 5-20-203(2)(b)(I) through (IV), C.R.S.) are available for each private education creditor. Pursuant to section 5-20-203(6), public and private nonprofit postsecondary educational institutions prescribe to an alternative registration process.
- A list of all schools at which the private education creditor has provided private education credit obligations to private education credit obligation borrowers (available in first document titled Required Information);
- The volume of private education credit obligations made annually to private education credit obligation borrowers (available in first document titled Required Information);
- The default rate for private education credit obligation borrowers obtaining private education credit obligations from the private education creditor, including the default rate for private education credit obligations made to private education credit obligation borrowers at each school (available in first document titled Required Information);
- The name and address of the private education creditor and any officer, director, partner, or owner of a controlling interest of the creditor (available in first document titled Required Information); and
- A copy of each model promissory note, agreement, contract, or other instrument used by the private education creditor during the previous year to substantiate that a private education credit obligation has been extended to a private education credit obligation borrower or that a private education credit obligation borrower owes a debt to the creditor (available in second document titled Model Promissory Agreements).
