Our Outreach and Engagement Unit conducts outreach across the state, partnering with community groups, non-profits, advocates, stakeholders, and local governments to build lasting connections that inform how the office serves Colorado. This work features travel and outreach by Attorney General Phil Weiser, our Outreach and Engagement staff, and professionals from across the Colorado Department of Law. We conduct outreach in both English and Spanish to expand our connections with Colorado communities.
While listening, learning, and engaging with residents throughout Colorado, we inform our understanding of community needs, opportunities, and priorities. We work with teams across the department to translate that feedback into actions designed to benefit Colorado’s residents and communities.
Engaging all of Colorado
Attorney General Weiser visited each of Colorado’s 64 counties since taking office, often many times. He convened public events and townhalls, listening sessions with the community and law enforcement, workshops with issue stakeholders and advocates, and local meetings on timely issues affecting each community. Our office responds to many issues residents raised at community events, including Colorado’s opioid epidemic, fair opportunity employment, racial justice, pandemic response and economic recovery, youth wellness, school safety, consumer protection, and protecting Colorado’s natural resources.
Multicultural outreach
Our team works to engage all of Colorado’s communities, including by emphasizing bilingual engagement with Spanish-speaking Colorado.
Our outreach staff members present at forums and appear on Spanish television and radio to help educate Colorado’s Spanish-speaking residents about the resources we provide, which provides an avenue for residents to report fraud and learn how to avoid common scams.
