Attorney General Phil Weiser honors Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey as ‘a true trailblazer’

March 31, 2021 (DENVER)—Attorney General Phil Weiser released the following statement on the death of Mary Mullarkey, former chief justice of the Colorado Supreme Court:

“Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey was a true trailblazer. As a jurist and a leader, she played a critical role in transforming the justice system in Colorado. At the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, we count Chief Justice Mullarkey as one of our own, as she served with distinction as solicitor general. Her mentoring and support for greater diversity and inclusion in the legal profession is another important part of her legacy.

“With her sharp intellect, tenacity, and compassion, Chief Justice Mullarkey was the definition of a public servant and our state is better because of her dedicated service. We will miss her greatly and her memory will be a blessing.”
