Attorney General Phil Weiser statement on JUUL settlement in North Carolina

June 28, 2021 (DENVER)—Attorney General Phil Weiser released the following statement regarding today’s JUUL settlement in North Carolina:

“JUUL tried to have Colorado’s lawsuit dismissed and they failed in December 2020. We withstood the motion to dismiss the case and we are moving forward in court. The fact that JUUL settled with North Carolina for $40 million underscores the gravity of the issue and the strength of our case against the company. JUUL must be held accountable for its reckless, deceptive, and unconscionable marketing that specifically targeted youth in our state.”
