Colorado leading a bipartisan team of Attorneys General investigating Facebook for possible anti-trust violations

Sept. 6, 2019 (DENVER, Colo.)—Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser released the following statement regarding the investigation into Facebook:

“Colorado is on the leadership team of a bipartisan coalition of Attorneys General investigating Facebook for possible antitrust violations. This investigation is focused on whether Facebook has engaged in anticompetitive behavior, endangered consumer data, and put the privacy of users at risk.

“At the Attorney General’s Office, we are charged with enforcing antitrust laws and protecting consumers. It is important that we look into concerns about the power of internet platform companies and their impact on Coloradans.”

The leadership team investigating Facebook are the attorneys general of Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and the District of Columbia.
