Bipartisan statement of state attorneys general on the nomination of Ken Salazar to be U.S. ambassador to Mexico

June 15, 2021 (DENVER)–Attorneys General Phil Weiser of Colorado, Wayne Stenehjem of North Dakota, and Lawrence Wasden of Idaho released the following statement regarding the nomination of Ken Salazar to serve as U.S ambassador to Mexico:

“Ken Salazar is a dedicated public servant who has served our nation with distinction and integrity, and he will be an excellent ambassador to Mexico. As Colorado attorney general, U.S. Senator, and Interior Secretary, Ken always brought collaborative problem-solving, creativity, and diplomacy to address important issues.

“From trade, to immigration, to cracking down on drug cartels, to respecting the rule of law, our nation has an opportunity to embark on a new era of cooperation in U.S.-Mexico relations. Ken is the right person to help our country meet this moment. We are honored to support his nomination.”
