COLORADO SOLICITOR GENERAL DAN DOMENICO TO ARGUE BEFORE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT

DENVER – The Colorado Attorney General’s Office today announced that Solicitor General Dan Domenico will present oral arguments on Monday before the United States Supreme Court in the Direct Marketing Association v Brohl (No. 13-1032). This is Domenico’s second appearance before the nation’s highest court. The case involves the federal jurisdictional statute, the Tax Injunction Act, and whether a challenge to Colorado's use tax collection act can be heard in federal court.

Colorado Attorney General John Suthers appointed Domenico as Solicitor General in 2006. In 2012, Domenico argued his first case before the U.S. Supreme Court, Wood v. Milyard, concerning whether or not a federal appellate court can raise the untimeliness of a convicted felon’s habeas corpus petition despite the issue not being decided at the district court level.
