Colorado Attorney General Cynthia H. Coffman, and the Colorado Division of Securities, part of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), today announced that former Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy Daniel Sullivan, 47, has been sentenced to six years in the Department of Corrections followed by a mandatory five years of parole. The sentence came as a result of Sullivan’s plea of guilty to one count of securities fraud, a class three felony, in December.
In recognition of National Consumer Protection Week, Attorney General Cynthia H. Coffman today unveiled the list of the top ten consumer complaints reported to her office in 2016. During the 2016 calendar year, consumers filed 8,707 complaints and inquiries with the Consumer Protection Section of the Office of the Attorney General.
DENVER- Colorado Attorney General Cynthia H. Coffman today announced the filing of charges against George Sackey, owner of Havana Pharmacy and Alameda Pharmacy. Sackey was charged with one count of felony theft and one count of felony computer fraud after allegedly fraudulently billing Medicaid for over $4.4 million.
Five years ago, in February of 2012, the Boulder County Board of County Commissioners imposed a moratorium on all new applications for oil or gas development in Boulder County. The Boulder Commissioners since have re-imposed or extended the moratorium eight separate times.
Today Colorado Attorney General Cynthia H. Coffman approved the conversion of Rocky Mountain Health Maintenance Organization, Inc. (“Rocky Mountain HMO”) to a for-profit entity in conjunction with its sale to United HealthCare Services, Inc. (“UHC”). On September 8, 2016, Rocky Mountain HMO submitted to the Attorney General its plan to convert from nonprofit status to a for-profit, and the subsequent sale to UHC. The Attorney General reviewed the transaction and has issued an opinion detailing her review and approval.
