2015 Annual Report

When I took office in January, I promised to uphold and defend the laws of our State and to use the independent authority of my office to protect all Coloradans and their collective right to determine the future of this great State.

It continues to be my honor and privilege to serve as the People’s lawyer and be their voice both in-and-out of the courtroom.

During my first year as Attorney General, my office has bolstered efforts in community outreach, consumer protection, illegal drug enforcement and has worked to protect Colorado from attempts to limit our State’s sovereignty. The Colorado Department of Law continues to ethically advocate for all Coloradans and the best interests of our State.

As the State’s largest law firm, the Colorado Department of Law represents not only the interests of Colorado but our clients within state government. Our legal efforts continue to ensure that not only do the people of Colorado abide by the rule of law, but their government does as well. The department’s independent authority allows for judicial review to ensure that all laws and rules are legal and implemented fairly.

This 2015 Annual Report outlines many of our accomplishments on behalf of Colorado and Coloradans. Many of our proudest achievements center on public safety, preventing fraud and protecting our State’s natural resources.

As Colorado’s 38th Attorney General, I am committed to fulfilling our mission to provide ethical, professional and independent legal services to the State of Colorado on behalf of all citizens.
