Any person or organization that provides, offers to provide, or agrees to provide Debt-Management services directly or through others must register as a Debt-Management Services Provider. This includes, but is not limited to, Consumer Credit Counseling agencies, Debt Settlement agencies, telemarketing or marketing companies advertising as Credit Counseling or Debt Settlement agencies.

Important Renewal Dates
- Renewals open early to mid-May
- Renewal Deadline is July 1st
If the renewal is not submitted by July 1, the registration will automatically expire pursuant to section 5-19-211(f), C.R.S.
Renewals take place via the Licensing portal (opens new tab) each year.
Debt Management Notification Fees
- Credit Counseling Registration and Renewal Fee: $1,500
- Debt Settlement Registration and Renewal Fee: $5,000
- Both Credit Counseling and Debt Management Registration and Renewal Fee: $5,000
IMPORTANT NOTE: Debt-management registrations (once issued) are valid through each July 1 regardless of the date issued and must be renewed annually. See the above information for important dates for debt-management registrants.
Although a registration expiration date may reflect the prior 7/1, the existing registration shall not expire (so long as a renewal is submitted) until the renewal application has been finally acted upon by the agency, pursuant to section 24-4-104(7), C.R.S.
