The Constituent Services Program Assistant will serve as a liaison between the Attorney General’s Office and constituents, including by helping to address constituent questions, issues, and concerns, as well as collecting data and insights from constituents to share with the Attorney General and Department leadership. WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Constituent Services Program Assistant in the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) serves as a liaison between the office and constituents, and works with them to help address questions, issues, and concerns. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Receives constituent inquiries via email, Contact Us web form, mail, and phone
  • Communicates with constituents and, based on information gained verbally and in writing, determines research or next steps necessary to facilitate resolution of issues or provide appropriate resources, including referrals to other state agencies where appropriate
  • Develops and analyzes options available to constituents to bring systemic concerns to the attention of the organization for resolution
  • Researches and problem-solves to help determine how best to respond to constituent inquiries and drafts appropriate responses for review and approval
  • Responds to contacts and/or follows up with information regarding constituent concerns by telephone, email, and mail
  • Tracks constituent issues and responses using Salesforce
  • Identifies trends and elevates them to Department of Law (DOL) leadership based on OAG priorities
  • Attends community meetings and events with the Attorney General for notetaking and constituent follow up, and helps prepare research and materials prior to such events
  • Supports the OAG with planning and implementation of special projects
  • Tracks, maintains, and reports on constituent data
  • Conducts research and data analysis at the request of the Attorney General and creates reports for presentation to the Attorney General and Department leadership
  • Helps coordinate the DOL’s bill review process during the legislative session, including reviewing and assigning bills to various sections and staff within the DOL and tracking the status of bills
  • Provides coverage for the DOL front desk as needed, including directing calls received on the main DOL telephone line, greeting visitors and vendors, and accepting service of process

This is a term-limited position that is expected to last no more than 24 months from the hire date. The successful candidate will be required to waive rights under the state personnel system.

Salary note: Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

This recruitment may be used to fill other positions in the Department of Law, Office of the Attorney General.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications and Substitutions: Please document all relevant experience in detail on your application. Experience will not be inferred or assumed. Any part-time experience listed will be prorated.

Experience Only:

Four (4) years of full-time work experience serving in a constituent services role as a liaison between a government office and/or elected official and the public, including responding to inquiries and providing assistance to members of the public, as the main function of your job.

 

OR

Education and Experience:

A combination of college course work in public administration, government, political science, or a related field and/or relevant work experience in a constituent services role equal to four (4) years.

If qualifying under the substitution, you will be required to provide a copy of your transcripts.

Note: Candidates possessing a foreign degree must submit a translation (evaluation) of their degree from an accredited institution, such as The National Association of Credential Evaluations Services in order to be given credit for the degree.

Required Competencies:
