The Colorado Department of Law is seeking a Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) to manage and lead a team of IT and Operations professionals. This role blends leadership with innovation—ideal for someone who thrives with diverse work, from technology solutions to facilities management. We’re looking for a servant leader with a collaborative mindset, eager to make a difference for the people of Colorado through creative problem-solving and a passion for public service. If you’re ready to utilize your leadership skills to make a difference, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) plays a vital role in ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making across the department’s technology and operational landscape.  As DCIO, you’ll serve as a strategic partner to the CIO, overseeing a diverse IT portfolio including the Accessibility & Applications, Data Analytics, Salesforce, and SharePoint teams. You’ll drive enterprise IT strategy, manage the IT budget and vendor contracts, and lead cross-departmental projects that enhance service delivery. The DCIO is a hands-on leader who brings creative technical problem-solving skills and guides the day-to-day work of unit supervisors and staff.

In addition to IT leadership, this role also manages department-wide operations—from physical space planning and building security to emergency preparedness, and collaboration with the Judicial Branch and building management.

We’re looking for a high-impact servant leader with a passion for public service, experience leading cross-functional teams, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution. If you thrive in a multifaceted role where technology and operations meet to make a statewide impact, we encourage you to apply.

This recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions in the Administration Section of the Department of Law.
