The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) consists of the elected Attorney General, Chief Deputy Attorney General, Associate Chief Deputy Attorney General, Solicitor General, Deputy for Intergovernmental Affairs, Director of Communications, and associated administrative staff. The OAG is responsible for setting legal policy for the Department of Law and for the State of Colorado. The OAG manages the Department of Law through the work of ten operational sections, Consumer Protection, Criminal Justice, Criminal Appeals, State Services, Revenue & Regulatory Law, Civil Litigation & Employment Law, Natural Resources & Environment, Division of Community Engagement, and Administration.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
This position provides support for the Office of the Attorney General and works in collaboration with the Executive Assistant to the Chief Deputy and Associate Chief Deputy Attorney General. This position provides support to the Department’s professional development and attorney recruiting activities on behalf of the Legal Talent Director, supports event coordination and execution, travel coordination, and financial transaction processing.
This position partners closely with the Executive Assistant and provides support in a back-up capacity as needed. This position also assists the Legal Talent Director with recruiting and outreach efforts.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provides support for the following meetings led by the Chief Deputy: Frontline Leaders, Talent & Operations, Deputies, Legal Policy, and Leadership. This includes preparing PowerPoint presentations, drafting agendas, circulating to the groups with any documentation as well as managing the email and Teams listservs.
- Coordinates schedules with multiple leadership team members. The position must coordinate their schedules with others inside the department, and at times from outside of DOL, then manage other meeting arrangements, agendas, and technology.
- Responsible for office events and activities planning and implementation based on direction from the Chief Deputy and Associate Chief Deputy.
- Supports the Department professional development programs to include CLE programs, applying for CLE credit and maintaining the database of affidavits, facilitating the monthly AGO Seminar Series and assisting with NAGTRI trainings. Also, updating and managing the departments CBA Elite Pass and PLI memberships.
- Works with the Legal Talent Director to schedule professional development programing for the office and post attorney job openings on job boards and with bar associations and professional organizations.
- Applies knowledge of OAG priorities, Department policies, and statewide guidance (Procurement and Personnel Rules) to resolve problems.
- Tracks and reconciles expenses, assists with tracking other office budgets and submits reimbursement requests, generates reports on spending, operates as the Unit liaison with Financial Services on accounting matters, reviews spending requests and expense authorizations to ensure compliance with the DOL and OAG financial process and procedures.
Salary note: Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Minimum Qualifications and Substitutions: Please document all relevant experience in detail on your application. Experience will not be inferred or assumed. Any part-time experience listed will be prorated.
Experience Only:Four (4) years of full-time professional experience performing high-level administrative and/or office management work.
OR
Education and Experience:A combination of related education and/or relevant work experience performing high-level administrative and/or office management equal to four (4) years.
If qualifying under the substitution, you will be required to provide a copy of your transcripts.
Note: Candidates possessing a foreign degree must submit a translation (evaluation) of their degree from an accredited institution, such as The National Association of Credential Evaluations Services in order to be given credit for the degree.
