The Safe2Tell team is recruiting for a team member to oversee business operations and support communication and outreach efforts. The Safe2Tell Operations and Engagement Coordinator (Program Assistant I) is a great opportunity for a team player who enjoys variety and working with people. Safe2Tell ensures that every Colorado student, parent, teacher, and community member has access to a safe and anonymous way to report any concerns about their safety and the safety of others, with a focus on early intervention and prevention through awareness and education. Safe2Tell accomplishes this by engaging youth and adults to feel comfortable raising concerns in their communities and by fostering a culture and climate of respect and help. Safe2Tell manages a sophisticated system of tip and alert analysis and shares information with local partners. The program also provides education and awareness training to law enforcement and students, faculty and staff regarding community safety and youth issues pertaining to youth suicide, violence, substance abuse, and other concerns.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Safe2Tell Administrator supports the operational and administrative functions of the Safe2Tell program. This includes supporting the day-to-day operations of the program, serving as the initial point of contact for Safe2Tell inquiries and communication, and managing inventory and invoices. The Safe2Tell administrator supports Colorado students engaged in the student ambassador program as the lead for all program activities and functions.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manages the Safe2Tell information line between the hours of 8am – 4pm Monday through Friday and manages the info@safe2tell.org email account and voicemail in order to address public inquiries about the program and evaluate the need to escalate inquiries, issues, and concerns to the Safe2Tell Program Director (Program Director).
- Develop reporting and accountability methods and tools to track major projects and initiatives.
- Manage the master calendar for staff work, travel, team meetings, and staff shortages to ensure continued operations and office coverage.
- Support functions of the Safe2Tell Program Director, as needed including, but not limited to, scheduling meetings, preparing mailings, ghost writing emails, and requesting quotes for materials.
- Draft and edit program communications, internal and external facing.
- Manage materials inventory, process supply and account invoices.
- Supports Program Director in identifying, engaging with, and monitoring contracts for Safe2Tell vendors and platforms.
- Administers the Safe2Tell Student Ambassador Program. Schedules meetings, writes agendas, plans the final celebration of impact, manages ambassador inquiries, and communicates with other Safe2Tell staff about ongoing projects. Manages the S2Tambassador@coag.gov email. Oversees and organizes the application and selection process of student ambassadors for the next year, including application support, review, interviews, and communications.
- Manages the safe2tell.org website. Make changes & edits to content as needed to keep the website up to date.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary note: Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
This recruitment may be used to fill other positions in the Department of Law, Division of Community Engagement.

Minimum Qualifications and Substitutions: Please document all relevant experience in detail on your application. Experience will not be inferred or assumed. Any part-time experience listed will be prorated.
Experience Only:
Four (4) years of full-time work experience in program administration/program coordination or project management, which must have included professional experience working directly with youth/students (K-12).
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of college course work in education, organizational development, program management, or a closely related field and/or relevant work experience in program administration/program coordination or project management, which must have included professional experience working directly with youth/students (K-12), equal to four (4) years. At least one (1) year of this experience is required.
If qualifying under the substitution, you will be required to provide a copy of your transcripts.
Note: Candidates possessing a foreign degree must submit a translation (evaluation) of their degree from an accredited institution, such as The National Association of Credential Evaluations Services in order to be given credit for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, if you possess any of the following specifically include the details on your application, as this information will be used to assess your qualifications and may be used to determine a top group of applicants.
- Foundational understanding of the Safe2Tell program
- Experience managing business operations such as reconciling invoices, contracts management, purchasing, etc.
- Project management experience
- Data management experience; proficiency with MS Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communications skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, constituents, and the general public including youth/students (K-12)
- Effective people skills and ability to network
- Excellent written communication skills
- Experience developing marketing, outreach, and communications materials
- Experience with community engagement
- Strong attention to detail
Required Competencies:
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite

- The Safe2Tell team offers flexible work arrangements. New employees are generally expected to work in-office 1-2 days a week. Additional flexibility will be considered for employees after a successful onboarding and training period. Please note, flexible work arrangements may change at any time based on business needs.
- Requires occasional in-state travel to attend meetings, trainings, conferences, and/or outreach events throughout the state as needed. A valid Colorado Driver’s License is required.
