Attorney General Phil Weiser launches online tool to report federal agent misconduct
Jan. 21, 2026 (DENVER) – Attorney General Phil Weiser today announced an update to the Colorado Department of Law’s public complaint filing system, adding a new section for Coloradans to report federal agent misconduct (opens new tab). Information shared there will assist the department in ensuring federal accountability, documenting concerns, and identifying potential patterns of misconduct by federal agents.
“Nobody is above the rule of law, including federal agents such as ICE or border patrol,” said Attorney General Weiser. “This new reporting form is about keeping our communities safe and reminding them that we have their back. If you see misconduct from a federal agent, we want to hear about it. Please document it and report it to our office.”
Each report will be reviewed and may be shared with relevant government offices with authority or oversight, including the Colorado congressional delegation and local district attorney offices. Each report is key to the department’s data collection and identification of patterns of unlawful conduct. In the form, Coloradans can expect to submit basic information, details or images of the incident they wish to report, and answer key questions such as whether other law enforcement was at the scene.
This complaint form is part of the state’s ongoing work to protect Colorado against the ongoing harmful and illegal actions of the federal government. A list of that work can be found on our website (opens new tab).
The Colorado Department of Law is not authorized to provide legal advice or representation to individuals, including in immigration proceedings. Members of the public seeking legal assistance should contact a private attorney or organizations that may provide free legal assistance. Those who are a victim or witness to a crime should contact their local law enforcement agency. In case of an emergency, call 911.
