These Administrative Assistant II positions will join a collaborative team with a wide range of diverse work. The State Services Section provides legal representation to 8 of 16 executive branch agencies including the departments of Human Services, Education, Higher Education, Personnel and Administration, Labor and Employment, Local Affairs, Health Care Policy and Financing, and Public Health and Environment; as well as the 5 statewide elected public officials, Judicial Department, and Public Utilities Commission.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
There are two (2) immediate vacancies within the following units of the State Services Section:
Administrative Assistant II (K-12)
This position exists to provide administrative support to the K-12, Higher Ed, Labor and Personnel units’ attorneys and legal assistants. Specific tasks include creating, producing, and proofreading correspondence, reports, pleadings and other legal documents; archiving files; properly directing telephone calls from the public and visitors; compiling information for reports; scheduling and arranging meetings, conference rooms, and conference calls; efficiently processing mail and distributing on a daily basis; faxing and scanning documents; assisting with travel arrangements in scheduling state cars for attorneys; maintaining desk manual for specific duties; providing backup for other support staff in the Section during times of heavy work load or when another administrative assistant is out of the office.
Administrative Assistant II (Human Services)
This position exists to provide administrative support to the individual units’ attorneys and legal assistants. Specific tasks include creating, producing, and proofreading correspondence, reports, and other documents; archiving files; properly directing telephone calls from the public and visitors; compiling information for reports; scheduling and arranging meetings, conference rooms, and conference calls; efficiently processing mail and distributing on a daily basis; faxing and scanning documents; assisting with travel arrangements and scheduling state fleet cars; maintaining desk manual for specific duties; providing backup for other support staff in the Section during times of heavy work load or when another administrative assistant is out of the office.
This recruitment may be used to fill multiple Administrative Assistant II positions in the State Services section.
Salary note: Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Please document all relevant experience in detail on your application. Experience will not be inferred or assumed. Any part-time experience listed will be prorated.
Experience Only:
Two (2) years of general clerical/office support experience as the primary function of the job.
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in general clerical/office support as the primary function of the job equal to two (2) years.
If qualifying under the substitution, you will be required to provide a copy of your transcripts at the time of application.
Note: Candidates possessing a foreign degree must submit a translation (evaluation) of their degree from an accredited institution, such as The National Association of Credential Evaluations Services in order to be given credit for the degree.
