This role ensures that IT standards and best practices are applied across litigation support systems, electronic discovery platforms (Relativity, Everlaw, and iPro), and data workflows to meet the evolving needs of legal teams. The position serves as a key technical resource, providing consultation on technology selection, data processing, database configuration, and digital evidence management, while helping attorneys, paralegals, and investigators work more efficiently and defensibly.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Litigation Support Analyst performs work across the DOL to support litigation teams in the areas of project management, electronic discovery (data ingestion, database design, review workflows, searching, analytics and document production), consultation, trial equipment set up, and general issues that relate to legal technology, ensuring work of teams is efficient and effective.

Duties include but not limited to the following:

  • Implement electronic discovery solutions by determining the best workflows for data retrieval, processing, storage schema, site configuration, workspace troubleshooting, and workflow management
  • Work closely with attorneys, investigators, and IT professionals to align discovery strategies with legal objectives and technical capabilities.
  • Assist with search term creation, database searching, production strategies, load file creation, resolving load file errors, AI tools for review/depo prep, audio/video redaction, and metadata management to ensure accuracy, defensibility, and cost effectiveness
  • Maintain detailed documentation of workflows, search protocols, and production logs to support transparency and defensibility in litigation
  • Provide tailored solutions by analyzing specific data needs and designing efficient methodologies for processing, review workflow recommendation, and delivery of responsive records
  • Assist teams with language to request preferred file formats and technical specifications from opposing counsel or client agencies to ensure compliance with internal systems and minimize post-processing needs and production errors
  • Troubleshoot issues related to data integrity, load file mapping, workspace configurations, and system performance across a range of litigation support tools
  • Manage user access and support adoption of legal technology tools used for discovery, review, and litigation support
  • Ensure data handling and storage practices align with legal, regulatory, and organizational security protocols

Project Coordination & Consultation

  • Participate in legal team project scoping meetings with attorneys, legal assistants, and investigators to understand their timelines and assist with their data assessment, data transfer, document review workflows, and electronic storage requirements for discovery or trial preparation
  • Provide customer support and technical strategy by advising on data organization, database configuration, and structured processing methods
  • Collaborate with the Litigation Support Supervisor to recommend appropriate document review platforms, data filtering tools, review AI tools, and document management solutions that align with the project’s scope and budget constraints
  • Partner with other members of the Litigation Support team to develop project timelines, data production schedules, and technology implementation plans that support legal teams in managing complex case/document workflows
  • Track and communicate project progress, risks, and deadlines to stakeholders through written reports, project trackers, and status updates
  • Identify potential risks or workflow bottlenecks and escalate issues in a timely manner to ensure continued project alignment
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant case law, legal standards, and emerging technical best practices related to eDiscovery, electronically stored information (ESI), and trial technology

eDiscovery and Litigation Technology Training & Compliance

  • Facilitate technical training as needed on eDiscovery platforms and other legal technology to end users across the department
  • Present training sessions to litigation teams—including attorneys, investigators, and paralegals—on the use of new or enhanced legal technologies, including eDiscovery platforms, trial demonstration software, and other litigation technology as needed
  • Design and update training materials, job aids, user guides, and reference documentation tailored to specific legal technologies and user roles
  • Address and explain complex processes in non-technical language to ensure comprehension and confident use by legal staff
