Cannabis company to pay new fines after violating previous settlement with the Colorado Attorney General’s Office
Jan. 5, 2026 (DENVER) — Attorney General Phil Weiser announced today a new settlement with MC Global Holdings and associated entities after the cannabis company violated the terms of a prior settlement with the state from May 2025.
“Deceiving consumers is something we will simply never tolerate,” said Attorney General Weiser. “To be caught not once, but twice as a company engaging in deceitful practices is shameful, and we are proud to continue to hold these companies accountable.”
On May 14, 2025, MC Global Holdings, LLC, its associated companies, and owners Jeff and Bret Worley, reached a settlement with the attorney general’s office to resolve allegations that the company deceived consumers by misrepresenting the source, origin, quality, characteristics, ingredients, and health benefits of some of its cannabis products. As part of the initial settlement, the parties agreed to pay a $50,000 fine, comply with the Colorado Consumer Protection Act, remove any false or misleading information about their products from their advertisements and descriptions, and add a disclaimer on all products stating, “No sales in Colorado.”
Within four weeks of signing the initial settlement, MC Global Holdings, LLC, and associated entities violated those terms, allegedly soliciting illicit cannabis products to Colorado consumers and claiming to only be barred from selling in certain Colorado cities, not the state as a whole. They also are alleged to have tested various safe harbor hemp products at an out-of-state laboratory that is not certified by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, as well as continuing to falsely claim their business operations are based in Texas, not Colorado.
Under the new settlement terms, the company will reaffirm its agreement to follow the terms outlined in the initial settlement from May and pay a new fine of $75,000 that could grow to $575,000 if it violates the settlement again.
