Statewide grand jury indicts two in home remodeling fraud scheme
Jan. 6, 2026 (DENVER) — The statewide grand jury indicted Major T. Morgan III and Dillon Rosenbrook on 34 felony counts for their alleged roles in a widespread home remodeling fraud scheme that targeted homeowners across the Denver area, Attorney General Phil Weiser announced today.
According to the indictment, Morgan owned and operated Minimal Modular Modern Designs LLC, also known as M3 Designs, a Colorado-based construction and remodeling company. Authorities allege that Morgan, with assistance from Rosenbrook, entered into contracts with homeowners for remodeling, landscaping, and construction projects, required large upfront payments, and then failed to complete the promised work.
“This alleged pattern of deception left homeowners with unfinished home remodeling projects and significant financial losses,” said Attorney General Weiser. “Coloradans should be able to trust that contractors will use their money as required by law, and those who fail to do so will face consequences.”
Between 2023 and 2024, dozens of homeowners paid M3 Designs tens of thousands of dollars each, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses statewide, with some individual victims losing more than $100,000, according to the investigation.
The indictment further alleges that instead of using client funds for their designated projects, Morgan diverted the money for personal and unrelated purposes, while repeatedly misleading homeowners about project timelines and progress. In many cases, little or no work was done, and refunds were not provided despite repeated requests.
The charges include violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act, various counts of felony theft, tax evasion, filing false tax returns, attempting to influence a public servant, and money laundering, among other offenses. The cases are filed in Boulder County District Court under case numbers 25CR1839 (Morgan) and 25CR1840 (Rosenbrook). Morgan is charged with 29 of the 34 counts and remains in custody in Boulder County. Rosenbrook is charged with 14 of the 34 counts and released on bond.
The case is being prosecuted by the Colorado Attorney General’s Office Special Prosecutions Unit.
A grand jury indictment is a formal accusation that an individual committed a crime under Colorado law. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
