Cannabis company owners sued by Attorney General Weiser barred from Colorado cannabis market under settlement
June 30, 2025 (DENVER) – Attorney General Phil Weiser announced today that he reached a settlement with Gee Distributors, LCC and its owner, Christopher Landon Eoff, resolving a lawsuit filed last year. Under the settlement terms, Eoff, who was doing business in Colorado as CBDDY, will be permanently barred from operating any cannabis businesses or any other businesses in related industries in the state.
In June of 2024, Attorney General Weiser sued Eoff and his associated businesses in Weld County District Court after a state investigation found Eoff’s company illegally sold cannabis products marketed as federally legal industrial hemp and falsified required state testing lab results.
After the lawsuit was filed, Eoff filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Due to Eoff’s bankruptcy proceedings, a fine of $820,000 will be suspended unless it is determined he misrepresented his financial standing, or if he violates the terms of the settlement.
“Colorado’s cannabis regulations set a high standard for protecting consumers and keeping THC out of the hands of kids, and I sued the defendant in this case after he recklessly violated the law,” said Attorney General Weiser. “I will continue to hold accountable those who evade Colorado’s cannabis laws.”
In the lawsuit, the attorney general’s office found Eoff and his company, which was based in Greeley but mostly operated online when it was actively doing business in Colorado, sold cannabis products to customers in Colorado and elsewhere in the country. Despite assurances that its products were federally legal industrial hemp, analysis conducted by investigators found the products were far too potent to be considered hemp and were in fact marijuana.
Investigators also found Eoff falsified lab results to misrepresent the THC content of his products, failed to verify the age of his customers, and marketed products in ways designed to appeal to children.
